October 2025 Update

OCTOBER 2025

Forgot about us, didn’t you? 

180 days is a long time to wait.

It was also a long time during which policy changes and tariff implementation made our original plan to partner with TeeMill - the leader in sustainable, fair trade, organic, print on demand apparel.  Why?  TeeMill is based in the United Kingdom.  Tariffs plus international shipping costs ate up the small profit margins quickly.  Passing those costs onto our Affirmers made no sense, as it basically made our launch apparel unable to be priced fairly in the marketplace.  

180 days gave us time to reconsider our plan.

It gave us time to research new scenarios.

It gave us time to do the work.

We needed to find the best print on demand companies in the United States (to avoid the tariffs and the international shipping costs.)

After a comprehensive review of all the options, from the big national and international companies to the small local businesses; our research showed that there was no leader in Sustainability in the Print on Demand Business in the United States.

We were going to have to cobble together a combination of businesses to do what TeeMill did.  We were also going to have to push those businesses to improve their sustainability plans, as none of them have in place factories that use renewable energy, offer a broad array of organic apparel printed on with eco-friendly inks, carbon neutral shipping, have a closed loop apparel recycling program, pay their workers a living wage with benefits, and ensure their supply chain meets their sustainability standards. Ultimately, we see an opportunity here, to push the companies we choose to work with in the direction of our values.

We chose to continue hosting our website - with Squarespace.  Moving and hosting our new online store on Shopify.  And working to set up a host of Print on Demand fulfillment companies (Printify, Printful and Apliiq) to offer our Affirmations on Black and White eco-friendly tshirts, hoodies, and wall art.

THE NUMBERS 

Months 3-9:  0 Affirmation Ts sold; just 125 unique visitors to BWAffirmations.com ; frozen at 69 Facebook followers with account suspended, had to delete old page, starting a new page, 0 followers; 23 Instagram followers, account was also frozen once the facebook account was frozen. Dormant LinkedIN Page has 15 followers.  

So here we are, on one of our Co-Founder’s Birthday, and we are re-launching Black & White Affirmations.  We remain a Black and White Co-Owned Family Business, that is 100% based in the USA from our design, to our USA production partners, to our USA shipping partners.

We knew this wasn't going to be easy, but we thrive in Adversity.
